Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas No.1?
Me too... So who's up for a mass-purchase of the track 'KILLING IN THE NAME' from December 13th (DON'T BUY IT YET!) as a protest to the X-Factor monotony?
Well this a campaign that has been kicked off by two London based Facebook music fans and they’ve been picking up some heavy weight support including:-
BBC 6MUSIC (Shaun Keaveny/Music Week), PHILL JUPITUS, SKY NEWS, KERRANG!, JOHNNY LYDON (Sex Pistols/PIL), BBC RADIO 1 (Reggie Yates), NME, YAHOO!, GIGWISE, DROWNED IN SOUND, ORANGE NEWS, ENTER SHIKARI, FALL OUT BOY, ROSS NOBLE, SKIN, GRAHAM BONNET, PHANTOM FM Dublin, LENNY HENRY, BBC RADIO 5LIVE (Kate Silverton), JACK RYDER, NEIL BUCHANAN, TOM MALCOLM (Twestival), MARTINE McCUTCHEON, ANDY SCOTT-LEE, DARREN HAYES, FIGHTSTAR, MALCOLM MIDDLETON, GET CAP WEAR CAPE FLY, MAGISTRATES
So how is this social media campaign going to work, this year the Christmas No.1 will be announced on Sunday 20th December
Which means...
ONLY buy the track from Chart-eligible download sites between these dates:
SUNDAY 13/12 from 00:01am -to- SATURDAY 19/12 at 11:59pm
We’ll add the links to this blog as they become available

Only time will tell if this social media marketing campaign will work, why not join the 285,000+ Facebook group members at RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR CHRISTMAS NO.1
I'm not too bothered about
I'm not too bothered about the Rag against the machine song its good but I think Christmas should be Christmas, why can't we get a Christmas song to number one? This does not mean Joe's (Xfactor winner) monotonous soppy winners song but a nice cheery Christmas song like Step into Christmas or Slade?
X factor will inneviably get to number one but can't it be the week after?
